This high-school level course studies the New York State curriculum for Algebra I. It is designed to help students explore algebraic concepts and understand their applications. This course prepares students for the New York State Regents Examination in Algebra I, and also prepares you for high school and beyond.
This course emphasizes functions and their applications. We will be studying linear, absolute value, piecewise, quadratic, and exponential functions, and more. We will also learn about performing operations with functions, as well as discuss statistics, sequences, and series.
Please bring the following supplies with you to class every day:
• pen and pencil
• binder with loose leaf
• TI-84 graphing calculator
• charged iPad (when needed)
Google Classroom will be used to post all class notes, homework assignments, and announcements. Please join your classroom with these codes:

Homework will be given on a regular basis. Any homework out of the textbook must be completed on paper. Due dates will be posted on the homework board and on Google Classroom.
iReady grades are based on completion of 45 minutes per week.
All tests will be announced at least one week in advance. Quizzes can be announced or unannounced.
Extra Help
Extra help is offered Tuesday afternoon (2:40pm-3:00pm) and Thursday morning (7:30am-7:50am). This is open specifically to students who were NOT invited to sessions before school on Monday/Wednesday.
There will always be an extra help session the afternoon before/morning of an exam.
