Welcome to 3rd Grade   

The Math Curriculum builds on concepts of addition and subtraction, while introducing new concepts of multiplication and division, fractions and geometry. We will start the year reviewing learned 2nd grade skills, such as, odd/ even numbers, place value and rounding numbers to the nearest ten and hundred.

The English Language Arts Curriculum focuses on Spelling, Grammar, and Reading concepts. In our Writing Workshop the children will start by learning the structure of a paragraph. We will then apply this knowledge when learning how to write opinion pieces, personal narratives, and resesearch pieces.

The Social Studies Curriculum focuses on facts, research, and hands on learning. In Social Studies we will be focusing at communities, map skills and the U. S. Regions and their characteristics. Finally, we will learn how communities create a nation, looking at the great european explorers. 

During Science we will be looking at the different climates and how both animals and humans adapt to their environments.  We will also take a look at fossil evidence.

In Religion, students are guided to a deeper understanding of their faith and how to deepen their faith as they grow.​ We will be learning about how we are Disciples and that we should be living our lives as Jesus did. The children will also be learning about variuos Saints throughout the year. 

• Please purchase an inexpensive stylus for your child to use when we write on our ipads. 
• Keep IPAD chargers at home. IPADS should come to school fully charged.
• Please make sure 3 sharpened pencils are in your child's pencil case each night as we cannot have communal supplies.
